ACP India Presents Key Governance Proposals to Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria

Association of Chartered Professionals of India submits strategic proposals to Chandigarh Administrator for strengthening corporate governance and startup ecosystem.

Chandigarh: A high-level delegation from the Association of Chartered Professionals of India (ACPI) met with Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, presenting critical proposals aimed at enhancing corporate governance, regional development, and entrepreneurship support across Northern India.

Proposals to Chandigarh Administrator

Led by ACPI President CS Rahul Joghi, the delegation included Secretary CS Girish Madan, Treasurer CS Vishal Arora, members CS Puneet Tangri and CA & CMA Balwinder Singh. The team highlighted reforms and institutional strategies to foster more efficient governance models across various states and union territories.

Three Key Recommendations Presented to the Administrator

During the meeting, the ACPI delegation put forward three major recommendations. First, they proposed the creation of a CSR Facilitation Cell under the Chandigarh Administration and Punjab Government. This cell would be instrumental in aligning Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding towards priority sectors such as skill development, healthcare, education, and rural growth.

Secondly, they recommended setting up a Regional Director Office of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) in Chandigarh. This office would serve Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, UT Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. The delegation emphasized that such a setup would enable administrative decentralization and streamline regulatory compliance for corporations and professionals.

The third recommendation centered on supporting the implementation of Startup Policy 2025. The delegation suggested the formation of a Professional Advisory Council comprising experts from the fields of finance, law, education, and industry. This council would provide strategic guidance, policy support, and mentorship to nurture a robust startup ecosystem in the region.
