Gallbladder Removal Surgeries Done Using da Vinci Surgical Robot in Panchkula Hospital

Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula, achieved a major medical milestone on Wednesday by performing its first-ever robot-assisted surgeries. The advanced procedures were carried out using the da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot, marking the hospital’s entry into the era of robotic-assisted healthcare.

The surgeries were led by Dr. Harsh Garg, Senior Consultant – General, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, and Dr. Rohit Bansal, Consultant – General, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Two successful gallbladder removal surgeries were performed on patients from Zirakpur and Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh), who recovered with minimal discomfort and faster healing.

Dr. Harsh Garg explained that robotic surgery offers multiple benefits such as minimal incisions, less scarring, reduced pain, quicker recovery, and higher precision with 3D-HD vision.
Dr. Rohit Bansal emphasized that robotic systems enhance a surgeon’s capabilities and significantly lower the risk of complications, resulting in greater safety for patients.
