Under the banner of “Swachh Yuva Doot – A Brigade for Cleanliness,” around 50 children actively participated in cleaning the park by collecting scattered litter and disposing of it in the municipal garbage collection vehicle. They also took the opportunity to educate park visitors on maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, encouraging them to keep their homes, neighborhoods, and the city clean and green.

Present at the event were Area Councillor Rajinder Sharma, Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman of Omkar Charitable Foundation, officials from Don Bosco Navjeevan Society, medical officers from the Health Department, and sanitation workers. All participants joined hands in cleaning the area and appealed to residents to contribute actively to the city’s cleanliness efforts.

Councillor Rajinder Sharma urged everyone to take a pledge for cleanliness, noting that it is the collective duty of every citizen to maintain the beauty of Chandigarh. “If these young children can play such an important role in keeping the city clean, we must learn from them and act responsibly,” he added.

Ravinder Singh Billa emphasized the need for citizens to refrain from dumping waste in the open and to only use municipal vehicles for garbage disposal. “The city is ours. Keeping it clean is our shared responsibility,” he said.

The campaign serves as a strong reminder that community participation, especially by youth, is essential in building a cleaner, greener, and more responsible society.
