Chandigarh: The BJP MC Elections 2026 Preparations began on Sunday with a conference of 192 Shakti Kendra Pramukhs from 35 Mandals at the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh State Office, Kamalam, Sector 33. The meeting focused on organizational planning for the Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for December 2026.
According to a press note, the conference aimed to finalize strategies and strengthen booth-level coordination ahead of the civic polls. Party leaders described the gathering as part of early groundwork for the upcoming elections.
The conference was addressed by State President Jitendra Pal Malhotra, Organization General Secretary (Chandigarh & Punjab) Srinivasulu, and State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti. The proceedings were coordinated by State General Secretary Sanjeev Rana, who outlined the organizational roadmap.
Addressing the gathering, Malhotra said the Municipal Corporation elections would influence the city’s development direction. He emphasized strengthening the party structure at the booth level, ensuring voter outreach, and communicating welfare schemes effectively. He stated that organizational strength plays a key role in electoral outcomes.
Srinivasulu described Shakti Kendras as an important component of the party’s framework and stressed discipline and grassroots engagement. Ramveer Bhatti highlighted the importance of micro-level management, including voter list verification and outreach to new voters. He said booth-level teams must work actively to connect with residents.
Sanjeev Rana emphasized coordination, regular reviews, and continuous grassroots activity.
At the conclusion of the conference, the 192 Shakti Kendra Pramukhs from 35 Mandals resolved to work collectively toward the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in December 2026.
