Mohali in a major success, the Mohali police raided a hotel and busted a gambling racket operated from the campus. During the raid, the police received Rs. 25.30 lakh cash, 19 mobile phones, playing cards, notebooks, seven cars and an Activa scooter.
Sharing the details at a press conference, Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said that action was taken after a tip-off about illegal gambling and fraud activities. On the information, the police conducted a raid in the hotel, where gambling was using.
A total of 14 persons were arrested on the spot, and preliminary investigation has started. The police is now investigating how long this gambling operation was going on and was probably identifying other persons.
Further investigation is underway, and more arrest is likely with the progress of the case.
