New Delhi: Union Minister for Union Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice President Kuljit Singh Chahal built a government quarter in Sarojini Nagar on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters here, Khattar said, “These government buildings were constructed by MBC (Ministry of Building and Construction). It is natural for new buildings to have some minor deficiencies. We are receiving complaints. Today, we are to inspect the situation here … We will hold a joint meeting in a week and ensure that the residents will have no more inconvenience”.
Earlier in the day, Khattar said that all four units were expected to operate at the Gorakhpur nuclear power plant by 2032 and a total of 2,800 MW power is generated. Gorakhpur power plant was approved in January 2014.
Speaking to reporters in Fatehabad on Saturday, Khattar said, “Today I visited Gorakhpur’s nuclear power plant for the first time. It was approved in January 2014. Usually, a nuclear power plant takes 13 years, but due to some reasons, by 2031, two power plant units will be turned on and two and two and two and two and two -power plant units will be conducted by 2032.”
He further said, “All will produce 2800 MW of electricity simultaneously. 50% of the power will go to Haryana and 50% in the center.”
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Khattar and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a meeting in Srinagar to discuss the power and housing projects of the state. After the meeting, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed his happiness and said that a lot of work was done in power and housing and urban affairs departments.
He mentioned that wherever there were any kind of issues, he was brought to the notice of the central government. The Union Minister praised the progress of Jammu and Kashmir in the power sector in the last few months and said that the state had moved beyond others in the power sector, especially in the implementation of smart meters and prepaid smart meters.
