Airtel’s AI Shield Blocks Online Frauds, Secures 2.25 Million Users in Punjab in Just 35 Days

Chandigarh, June 18, 2025:
Bharti Airtel has announced a major success in its mission to combat rising online frauds in Punjab. In just 35 days, the telecom giant’s AI-powered fraud detection system successfully protected over 2.25 million users in the state from cyber threats in real time.

As part of its nationwide initiative, Airtel’s advanced real-time threat detection system is automatically activated for all mobile and broadband users. It scans and filters suspicious links shared via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, and browsers, blocking access to malicious websites within 100 milliseconds.

The system leverages real-time threat intelligence and analyzes over 1 billion URLs daily to prevent online scams. For instance, if a user in Chandigarh receives a fake message like “Your parcel has been delayed. Track it here: http://www.tracky0urparcell.com” and clicks on the link, Airtel’s AI instantly scans and detects the risk. If found harmful, the link is blocked and the user is redirected to a warning page stating: “Blocked! Airtel has detected this site as dangerous.”
