Mohali, Punjab – In a significant boost to the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiatives, Tynor Orthotics, India’s largest manufacturer of orthopaedic aids, has launched a world-class textile manufacturing facility Ortech Textiles in Mohali. The project is a backward integration move aimed at making Tynor self-reliant in raw material supply for its orthopaedic product lines.

The new plant, sprawling across six acres, was inaugurated by Punjab Industries, IT and Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond. MLA Kulwant Singh attended the event as Guest of Honour, alongside Tynor’s senior leadership including Managing Director Dr. P J Singh and Executive Director AJ Singh.
The facility has been established with an investment of ₹300 crore, covering land, infrastructure, and high-end machinery, making it one of the most advanced textile manufacturing units in the region.
A Leap Towards Self-Reliance
Dr. P J Singh, MD of Tynor, emphasized that Ortech Textiles is a game-changer for the company. “This plant is a crucial part of our backward integration strategy. We’ll now manufacture our technical textiles in-house, significantly reducing dependency on imports — particularly from China,” he said.
Dr. Singh revealed that the current production capacity of Tynor stands at ₹600 crore, and with Ortech’s integration, it is expected to reach ₹2,000 crore. “This strategic move enhances product quality by 25% and reduces raw material costs by another 25%, enabling us to deliver superior yet affordable medical aids to Indian and global markets,” he added.

Massive Employment Boost for Punjab
With Ortech Textiles operational, the Tynor Group aims to double its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 in the near future, creating 1,000–1,500 jobs through Ortech alone, according to Executive Director AJ Singh.
Singh credited the Punjab Government’s progressive industrial policies for facilitating this major investment. “The liberal reforms and industry-friendly ecosystem provided by the state have played a pivotal role in setting up this plant,” he said.
He also added that Tynor is now aiming to be among the top three orthopaedic aid manufacturers globally, leveraging innovation, R&D, and vertical integration to dominate both domestic and international markets.
