Sarang Sikandar Launches AI-Powered Song ‘Me & Her’ as Tribute to Father Sardool Sikandar
Chandigarh: 1 July // In a deeply emotional and innovative musical gesture, singer-composer Sarang Sikandar unveiled his latest single, ‘Me & Her’, on his 32nd birthday at the Chandigarh Press Club. The launch was more than just the release of a new track—it was a heartfelt tribute to his father, the legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikandar.
The event was attended by his family, including his mother and acclaimed singer-actress Amar Noorie, adding warmth and emotional depth to the occasion. Sarang’s latest song is one of the first AI-powered creations in Punjabi music, blending technology with tradition in a way that redefines legacy.
“This is more than a tribute. It feels like I’m speaking to my father through music, using the technology of the future,” Sarang said, visibly moved.
The musical lineage of the Sikandar family adds another layer of depth to the project. Sarang’s grandfather, Sagar Mastana, a renowned tabla player from the Patiala Gharana, is remembered for pioneering the use of bamboo sticks in tabla playing.
“Music is in our blood,” Sarang remarked. “My grandfather played with soul, my father sang with heart, and now I’m using AI to carry that legacy forward.”
The video for ‘Me & Her’ stars German-born Persian actress Dilber Arya and was shot across Dubai and India, narrating a poetic love story that fuses old-world charm with contemporary visuals.
Sarang’s younger brother, Alaap Sikander, contributed guitar and also handled the mixing and mastering, making the track a true family collaboration.
The concept of incorporating AI was developed by Robin Kalsi, who planted the seed for this tech-infused musical journey. The video’s striking animations were brought to life by Simar VFX, whose creativity added a unique digital identity to the song.
With ‘Me & Her’, Sarang Sikandar not only honors his father’s legacy but also ushers Punjabi music into a new era—where emotion meets innovation.
