Ekamveer Singh, Who Was to Represent India in MMA Championship in London, Dies in Road Accident; Federation and Coach Pay Tribute

Punjab – The Budo Kai Do Mixed Martial Arts Federation of India has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of international MMA player Ekamveer Singh, who passed away today in a road accident on the Bathinda-Chandigarh highway near Faguwala Kenchia. The accident reportedly occurred due to a tire burst, leading to a vehicle crash.
Ekamveer Singh was the son of a Punjab Police DSP currently posted in Patiala. A promising talent in the Indian MMA circuit, he was scheduled to represent India in an international MMA championship in London on July 17, highlighting his extraordinary skills and dedication to the sport.

Federation President Saranjit Singh mourned the loss, calling it a devastating moment for Indian martial arts. “It is extremely unfortunate to lose such a talented and rising star. Ekam was a bright future of martial arts in India,” he stated.

His coach Ravinder Pal Sharma paid an emotional tribute, recalling Ekam as a world-class player who had brought glory to India and the federation by winning several international gold and silver medals. “His contribution to the sport is unforgettable. We stand with his family in this moment of grief,” he added.
Ekamveer’s untimely demise is being mourned across the Indian martial arts and sports community. His journey, though cut short, will continue to inspire many aspiring fighters.
