Weight Loss Champions Meet

Each participant had a story of struggle, courage, and triumph—highlighting the power of medical science combined with determination. These patients had undergone bariatric (weight-loss) surgery at Max Hospital, and today, they stand transformed not just physically, but emotionally and mentally.

One such champion, Mohar Singh, opened up about his battle with severe health issues like breathlessness, fatty liver, and reduced mobility due to excess weight. He spoke candidly about the loss of self-esteem, social anxiety, and feelings of shame. But choosing bariatric surgery turned his life around—bringing back his confidence, health, and mobility.

Another participant, Jagdip Kaur, reflected emotionally, “If you had seen me two years ago, I was not the woman standing before you. That woman was 30 years older than me. I realized it wasn’t just arthritis or swelling—it was something more serious. That’s when I knew, enough is enough. I had to take charge of my health.”

Asiri Debbarma shared a deeply personal experience of struggling with her weight for years. “For half my life, I fought silently. Yes, I was overweight, but I never let it define me—until one day I just broke. I felt isolated, anxious, and lost. But thanks to the care and support at Max Hospital, bariatric surgery made it all so much easier. Today, I live with pride and joy.”
