The academy aims to offer high-performance training in cricket, football, tennis, shooting, archery, swimming, and basketball.
Chandigarh, August 1:
In a major boost to the sports ecosystem of the Tricity region, Dikshant Group of Schools has partnered with Alpha Sports Management to launch a high-performance, multi-sports training academy at Dikshant International School, Derabassi. The initiative is aimed at identifying and nurturing grassroots talent through professional training and world-class sports infrastructure.

The academy is the brainchild of Mitul Dikshit, Chairman of Dikshant Group of Schools, and Sumit Prakash, Founder Director of Alpha Sports Management—both alumni of the prestigious Scindia School, Gwalior. Their shared vision is to transform Tricity into a hub for budding athletes and provide them with the necessary tools to excel nationally and internationally.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Chandigarh Press Club, Dikshit emphasized the group’s commitment to the overall development of students. “We believe in holistic education. With this partnership, we can now provide elite sports infrastructure and guidance to students aiming to compete at the highest levels in India and abroad,” he said.
Sumit Prakash, one of India’s leading sports entrepreneurs, pointed out that although Tricity has produced many promising athletes, it lacked a structured sports ecosystem. “Our goal is to bridge that gap with a platform that not only delivers professional training but also creates clear pathways to national and international competitions,” he said.
The academy will offer top-tier coaching in cricket, football, tennis, swimming, shooting, archery, and basketball. Highlighting their global reach, Prakash shared that Alpha Sports collaborates with renowned entities such as Delhi Capitals (cricket), Bengaluru FC (football), and India Khelo Football, which sponsors top talent for European tours. The archery program is led by Olympians Dola Banerjee and Rahul Banerjee under the DRB Foundation, while Olympian Prakash Nanjappa heads the shooting program.
This academy marks a transformative step for young athletes in the region, promising structured guidance, expert mentorship, and global exposure across multiple sporting disciplines.
