BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March Over AI Summit Allegations

BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March held in Chandigarh against Congress over alleged indecent display at AI Summit. The BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March was organized in Chandigarh on Monday by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chandigarh Pradesh Mahila Morcha against the Indian National Congress over an alleged indecent display at the AI Summit. The march began from the BJP office at Sector 33 Kamalam and proceeded towards Congress Bhawan in Sector 35. The protest was led by Mahila Morcha President Heera Negi. According to party representatives, hundreds of workers participated in the BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March. The protesters raised slogans against the Congress party and stated that the alleged incident at the AI Summit had brought disrepute to the country on an international platform. As the march moved towards Congress Bhawan, the police administration installed barricades near Akashvani Kendra and stopped the protesters from moving ahead. All workers were halted at that point. Following this, Mahila Morcha leaders and workers staged a sit-in protest at the barricade site. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers in the area to maintain law and order. Addressing the gathering, Heera Negi said that any indecent display that allegedly tarnishes India’s image at an international forum is condemnable. She alleged that such incidents reflect an irresponsible attitude and harm the dignity, culture, and values of the nation. She stated that India is rooted in cultural traditions where respect for women and civil conduct are important. Party representatives informed that the protest program was coordinated by Farmila. Several leaders, including Chandrawati Shukla, District President Rajendra Kaur Ratu, District Vice President Anita Joshi, District President Ritu Sood, and District President Rekha Sood, took part in the BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March along with other office bearers and workers. State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti also addressed the gathering. He said that the BJP gives priority to national interest. Referring to an earlier instance during the tenure of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, he mentioned that the then Leader of Opposition Atal Bihari Vajpayee was entrusted with presenting India’s stand at an international forum in Geneva. Bhatti further stated that representatives from around 22 to 25 countries were present at the AI Summit. He alleged that the incident was an attempt to embarrass the nation. He also referred to the outcomes of the 2014, 2019, and 2024 general elections while speaking at the event. The BJP Mahila Morcha Protest March concluded near Akashvani Kendra. Leaders stated that they would continue to raise issues through democratic means.
