State President Jatinder Pal Malhotra details a historic journey of good governance, massive infrastructure growth, and welfare schemes targeting the vision of a developed India. CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated a significant milestone on Thursday as state leaders gathered to review over a decade of national progress. BJP Chandigarh State President Jatinder Pal Malhotra addressed a high-profile press conference at the state office, “Kamalam,” in Sector-33. Prominent leaders attended the event, including State Vice Presidents Indira Singh and Naresh Panchal, alongside State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti. During his address, Malhotra asserted that the 12 years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi represent a golden chapter of public service. He emphasized that the administration successfully lifted nearly 25 crore people out of poverty. This achievement stems directly from the core guiding philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” Furthermore, the Modi government established unprecedented transparency through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. By sending funds directly to citizens, the system eliminated millions of fake beneficiaries. Consequently, this initiative prevented nearly ₹4.31 lakh crore from falling into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, financial inclusion reached new heights with the opening of more than 58 crore Jan Dhan accounts. “The work culture of our country has changed significantly under Prime Minister Modi,” Malhotra stated. “We ensure that major national projects are not only inaugurated but are also completed strictly on time.” The state president also highlighted massive expansions in national infrastructure. For instance, the national highway network expanded from 91,287 kilometers in 2014 to over 1.46 lakh kilometers today. Similarly, Indian Railways achieved a milestone by electrifying roughly 99.6% of its broad-gauge network. In addition, the aviation sector experienced rapid growth. India constructed over 90 new airports during this 12-year period, which successfully lowered travel barriers for ordinary citizens. Ultimately, Malhotra concluded that these collective achievements are securely building the foundation for a prosperous, self-reliant, and developed India.
