Sonu Sood sends Rs 1.5 lakh to support late Fish Venkat’s family

Telugu actor and comedian Venkat Raj, popularly known as Fish Venkat, passed away on July 18 in Hyderabad due to complications related to kidney disease. He was 53 years old and had been undergoing dialysis while being treated in the ICU. His family had been appealing for financial assistance to cover the cost of a kidney transplant, which was estimated at around Rs 50 lakh. Unfortunately, Venkat passed away before the necessary funds could be raised. Sonu Sood sends Rs 1.5 lakh to support late Fish Venkat’s family Venkat had appeared in numerous Telugu films, including Adhurs, Gabbar Singh, Shivam, and Khaidi No 150. His final on-screen appearance was in the 2024 film Coffee with a Killer. Following the heartbreaking news, actor Sonu Sood extended his support to Venkat’s bereaved family. He promptly transferred Rs 1.50 lakh as a gesture of assistance and also personally spoke to Venkat’s wife and relatives over a phone call to offer his condolences. According to Sonu Sood’s team, he initially believed that Venkat was still hospitalized and had a chance of recovery. However, he was “shocked to know” that the actor had already passed away. As reported by Hindustan Times, Sonu personally spoke to Venkat’s wife and other family members over a phone call and assured them of his continued support whenever needed. Venkat’s wife, who was deeply touched by the kind gesture, expressed a sense of relief, especially since her husband had always admired Sonu Sood, Hindustan Times also reported. Earlier reports claimed that actor Prabhas had offered Rs 50 lakh for Venkat’s kidney transplant, but the family later clarified that they never received any such amount. “Some unknown person called us pretending to be Prabhas Anna’s assistant. We found out after that it was a fake call. He doesn’t even know something like this is happening. We have not received any financial help yet,” a family member told The Free Press Journal. Before Venkat’s passing, actors like Vishwak Sen and Pawan Kalyan had also reportedly come forward to assist. Pawan Kalyan was said to have donated a sum after learning about Venkat’s condition. Although the financial help was delayed, the support from the film fraternity, especially Sonu Sood, provided some solace to the family during this difficult period. SJOBA to Honour Indian Army with Marathon on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Over 500 Runners Including Wheelchair Athletes to Participate in Inclusive SJOBA Marathon 2025 Chandigarh | July 23, 2025:To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, the St. John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA) will host the SJOBA Marathon 2025 on Saturday, 26th July, celebrating the courage and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. The event also promotes themes of national pride, peace, inclusivity, and environmental consciousness. At a curtain-raiser press conference held at St. John’s High School, SJOBA President Harpal Singh Malvai announced that the marathon would start and end at the school premises, beginning at 5:00 AM, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. In attendance were SJOBA’s Founder President Mac Sarin, Ex-President SPS Ghai, and Sanjeev Agarwal, Managing Director of Scott Edil, the marathon’s title sponsor. The team also unveiled the official marathon T-shirt during the event. Malvai highlighted the event’s motto:“Run for the Armed Forces, Run for Peace, Run for the Planet”, dedicated in memory of legendary runner Late Sh. Fauja Singh. SJOBA Secretary Danish Singh Mangat shared that the event will host over 500 runners from across India, with race categories including 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km for all age groups and genders. Race Director Col Harpreet Singh Mann assured that stringent safety measures are in place. The course will be monitored by marshals, and supported by Fortis Hospital, FIVS, and ambulances stationed throughout the route. Hydration points will keep runners refreshed. In a strong gesture of inclusivity, 9 wheelchair-bound athletes and several specially-abled participants will take part. Runners aged 14 to 80 years will be seen participating. Every runner will receive a finisher medal, goodie bag, and healthy breakfast. Trophies will be given to winners across age and gender categories, with special awards for the youngest and oldest participants. Earlier this year, however, fans were disappointed when the balcony was enclosed with bulletproof glass. Many assumed it was due to the ongoing threats against the superstar. However, Khan has now disclosed the actual reason behind the decision to shield the balcony. Salman Khan reveals why he enclosed his iconic balcony with bulletproof glass; says, “I would find people sleeping there…” In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Salman Khan shared that the real reason behind enclosing his balcony was due to people climbing up and staying there in hopes of meeting him. “I would find them sleeping there,” he revealed as quoted by the publication. As a result, the actor decided to cover the balcony to ensure the safety of everyone at home. For those who may not know, Salman Khan’s balcony at his Galaxy Apartments residence was enclosed with bulletproof glass in January this year. This heightened security measure was implemented during a period when the actor was receiving multiple death threats, primarily from the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In April 2024, gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in the Bandra area of Mumbai. Following the incident, it was reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was allegedly involved. Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, later claimed responsibility for the shooting through a post on Facebook. Subsequently, the Mumbai Traffic Police received a threatening message from the gang, demanding Rs. 5 crores in exchange for Salman Khan’s “forgiveness.” The message warned that if the demand was not fulfilled, the actor would face a fate “worse than Baba Siddique,” who was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12, 2024. Following these alarming events, Salman Khan’s security was significantly enhanced. In October 2024, he purchased a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV valued at around Rs 2 crores, imported directly from Dubai to Mumbai. Additionally, security protocols were strengthened outside the Bigg Boss 18 sets in Mumbai’s Film City. Reports also state that Khan’s security team was bolstered with an extra eight to ten armed officers, and the Mumbai Police set up a special command centre at his residence.
