REWA Delegation Meets Jatinder Pal Malhotra, Voices Concerns on Future of Rural Schools and Administrative Neglect

Chandigarh, July 15, 2025 — The Rural Education Welfare Association (REWA), a dedicated and registered organization committed to the upliftment of rural education in Chandigarh, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Jatinder Pal Malhotra, President of BJP Chandigarh, on his appointment as the Chairman of the Education Standing Committee of the Chandigarh Administrator’s Advisory Council.
In a meeting led by REWA President V.B. Kapil, the organization’s officials and members visited Malhotra to express their appreciation and convey their expectations for meaningful reforms under his leadership. The members highlighted REWA’s long-standing efforts to provide quality education at minimal fees to children from economically weaker and underprivileged families in the rural areas of Chandigarh.
They further explained the ongoing challenges faced by rural schools, especially in obtaining proper recognition under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Despite consistent efforts over the years, including multiple meetings with senior administrative and education department officials, many of these issues remain unresolved.
