Chandigarh: Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Naib Singh Saini announced the financial assistance of the rupee. 3 lakhs each from their discretionary funds to the families of Ayush Yoga Sahayak who died in accidents during service. He also announced that the registration of yoga and natural medicine physicians would begin this year.
The Chief Minister said that Yoga has already been included in the syllabus from class 1 to 10 in Haryana schools. Taking one step forward, now the examination will be conducted for yoga, sports and other such subjects, which will also become part of the formal course. He said that this initiative will motivate children to understand and adopt yoga from an early age.
The Chief Minister made these announcements during a grand yoga Mahotsav held in Panchkula, where the Chief Minister also vested 264 outstanding artists of the ‘Surya Namskar 2025’ campaign. Health, Family Welfare and Ayush Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister congratulated the winners and wished him a bright, healthy and successful future. He said that this achievement proves that Haryana is rich in talent and hard work. Participation of yoga institutions, Ayush Yogak, educational institutions, jail departments, police, army and paramilitary forces is a matter of pride in Surya Namskar campaign.
Three portals launched for transparency in AYUSH department
To increase transparency in the Department of AYUSH, the Chief Minister launched three portals: e-Marketplace Portal, Ayush Medicine Inventory Portal and E-Medicine Licensing Portal. The e-Marketplace portal will enable farmers and suppliers of medicinal plants to register and sell their products directly. The inventory portal will allow officers to monitor the demand and stock, and the licensing portal will streamline the application process for new and renewed licenses.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the Yoga Festival has special significance as it comes just 25 days before the 10th International Yoga Day 2025. 264 persons honored the recently concluded ‘Surya Namaskar 2025’ campaign. The campaign started on 12 January (Swami Vivekananda Jayati) and with the participation of 46 lakh people, concluded on 12 February (Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayati).
India will become a global leader through Yoga: PM Narendra Modi’s efforts made International Yoga Day a reality
The Chief Minister said that yoga is now an integral part of life not only in India but around the world, Prime Minister, Sh. Efforts of Narendra Modi. The United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day after India’s proposal, supported by 177 countries. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, it marked the first real step towards re -establishing India as a world leader. Today, yoga is being hugged globally.
He said that Yoga is a powerful tool for Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Fit India – Hit India”. Yoga is no longer a part of life, but a way of life.
The Chief Minister said that yoga is more than only physical exercise; It is a lifestyle that has been gifted to us through the years of penance and self-interview by the ancient sages. In the Gita, Lord Krishna said, “Yoga Karmasu Kaushalam” – Yoga brings skills in action. Yoga is about the union of body, mind, soul and divine. This is a celebration of the importance of Mahostav Yoga and is a call to integrate it in our life.
The aim of the government is to make Haryana a model in health
The Chief Minister emphasized that the objective of the state government is to make Haryana a model state not only in agriculture and industry but also in health. Yoga is an important tool in achieving this goal. He said that yoga is being taught in schools, colleges and universities.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana is the only state where the yoga is part of the syllabus, it is mandatory from class 1 to 12. In addition, 25,000 education department personnel have been trained as yoga teachers. Haryana Yoga Aig has been established to promote yoga. He said that Shri Krishna Ayush University has been established in Kurukshetra to promote Yoga and Ayurveda.
Ancient science comes from modernity
The Chief Minister said that the National Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy has been installed in Panchkula and a postgraduate yoga and Naturopathy Research Institute Deverekhana, Jhajjar, where OPD services have started.
The government is committed to establishing exercises in all 6,500 villages of the state, identified with 1,121 sites and completed at 714. A total of 877 Ayush Yogak has been appointed.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, all Ayurvedic dispensaries are being upgraded to Ayush Health and Welfare Centers. So far, 506 have been upgraded, and 126 yoga instructors have been appointed.
Make yoga an integral part of your life
The Chief Minister urged the youth to make Yoga an inseparable part of their life, not only one hour of exercise but a daily habit. He encouraged to dedicate time every day to yoga, pranayama, and physical and mental welfare.
He also released two magazines by writer Madhu Pandit’s book “The Daily Pose-A Meditation Diary for Bijari Lives” and Haryana Yoga Ayog- “Yoga-Sadhana to Vishwawakalian” and “Surya Namaskar Visitha” and a souvenir.

Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao welcomed the Chief Minister and said that the Yoga Festival 2025 is an important milestone in the preparation of International Yoga Day. Citizens of Haryana not only understand the importance of yoga, but also adopt it in their lives.
He said that yoga is one of the oldest and most precious traditions in India, not only physical exercise but also the path of mental and spiritual peace. It is a symbol of our culture that the world is now embracing. The Prime Minister, since the beginning of International Yoga Day due to Sh. Narendra Modi’s efforts, crores of people have joined this movement every year.
He said that the AYUSH department and Haryana Yoga Ayog are making tireless efforts to bring yoga education to every citizen. There will be yoga instructors in every village and city, ensuring that people integrate yoga in their daily life. He called upon everyone to celebrate International Yoga Day on 21 June and committed to make yoga a part of his lifestyle with grandeur.

Sudhir Rajpal said that today’s Yoga Festival 2025 is being celebrated on 21 June 25 days before International Yoga Day. This shows that the International Yoga Day framework has been inaugurated from today itself. The Chief Minister has directed the Department of AYUSH to ensure that the program should be unprecedented on 21 June for International Yoga Day – something that talks about the whole world. He said that the Chief Minister has imagined Yoga Day not only as a program but also as a mass movement.
Chairman, Haryana Yoga Aig, Dr. Jaideep Arya, Chief Minister, Sh. Welcoming Naib Singh Saini said that the Chief Minister has played an important role in increasing the glory of yoga.
He said that the future of Haryana is in strong hands. He said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has taken yoga on a global stage through his efforts. He said that Haryana is a land of Naturopathy, and by integrating yoga with yoga, yoga assistants and children can be sent abroad. Additionally, opportunities to send yoga trainers abroad should be discovered. He said that Haryana is the only state where yoga has been included in the school curriculum.
