Ferozepur: As part of the unique initiative of the Punjab government “A Day with DC/SSP”, students of six meritorious girl students of Ferozepur district got an inspiration to spend a full day with Deputy Commissioner Deepshkha Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, who is receiving practical performance for administrative work, leadership and public service.
Top performing students began their day at DC’s official residence, where they were warmly welcomed. DC and SSP interacted with him in a friendly and encouraging manner, discussing their educational journey, interests, time management and other life experiences on breakfast.
Later, the students visited the District Administrative Complex and SSP office. He first saw how various government departments operate, mechanisms for public grievance redressal, and implementation process of government schemes. He also attended a meeting where major development related issues of the district were discussed.
During an open interaction session, the students shared their experiences and received inspiration from senior officials including ADC (General) Damanjit Singh Mann and AC (General) Harjot Kaur. DC and SSP also shared their personal educational and professional journey, offering guidance on education, career and public service.
The students were then awarded modern pills, appreciation certificates and books by the Deputy Commissioner, who also wished them a bright future. He said that the initiative not only introduced the students with the work of the administration, but also inspired the values of leadership, discipline and public service. He said that such programs can become milestones in shaping the lives of students.
The participating students included Anmolpreet Kaur (99.38%in 10th), Jobanpreet Kaur (98.15%in 10th), Nirma Rani (98%in 10th), Manveer Kaur (99.60%in 12th), Sonakashi (99.40%in 12th), and 98%in 12th.
The students expressed gratitude to the Punjab government and the district administration, called the experience unique, unforgettable and inspiring. He said that the exposure helped him understand the nuances of governance and would help them to determine future goals. The parents and teachers of the students also appreciated the initiative as a positive step for the overall development of government school students.
Dr. Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, thanked the administration and praised the program for the students to be educational, motivated and enjoyable.
