Chandigarh: Lokayukta in Haryana will now adopt video conferencing (VC) facilities for its action. This directive comes as part of a comprehensive state government initiative, aimed at taking advantage of audio-visual electronic means for all official interactions, aligning with new central criminal laws and Supreme Court guidelines.
A letter in this regard has been issued by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the heads of the departments, the managing directors of the board/corporation, the divisional commissioners, the sub-divisional officers of the sub-division, and the registrar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, emphasizing strict compliance with these new instructions.
The decision to integrate VC facilities lies in the competent provisions of Indian Municipal Corporation Sanhita, 2023. In particular, the evidence of section 336 (in some cases of public servants, experts, police officers) and section 530 (testing and proceedings conducted in electronic mode clearly make provisions clearly for audio-unusual electronic means.
In addition, in the Civil Appeal, the Supreme Court of India has designed a standard operation process (SOP) in Allahabad and others in 23-24 of India in 23-24 “Uttar Pradesh and other vs. Association of Retired Supreme Court and High Court, which actively promotes the presence of government officials through video conferences.
In response to these development, the State Government, notification number 2/18/2024-5JJ (1), on 31 January 2025, from the Department of Justice, officially notify the establishment of the establishment of nominated conferencing facilities.
