An upcoming film inspired by the legacy of the Kohinoor diamond aims to reconnect youth with Punjab’s history and cultural roots.
Chandigarh: The official poster of the upcoming film ‘Taj Punjab’, inspired by the legacy of the historic Kohinoor diamond, was unveiled at a special event held at the Chandigarh Press Club. The launch marked an important milestone for the film and its creative team.

The press conference and poster unveiling were led by the film’s director and story writer, Veer Sachin, who spoke to the media about the historical significance of the Kohinoor diamond and its deep connection with the heritage of Punjab and India.
Sharing details about the storyline, Veer Sachin said the film revolves around a Punjabi youth who attempts to bring the Kohinoor diamond back to India from England, highlighting the emotional and cultural link between the historic jewel and the country’s heritage.
He said the film aims not only to present this historical narrative but also to inspire the younger generation to reconnect with their cultural roots and history.
Veer Sachin revealed that the idea for the film came to him during a visit to London, where he saw the Kohinoor diamond displayed in a museum as a tourist. That moment sparked the inspiration to create a film exploring the story and legacy associated with the iconic gem.
Co-director Jaspreet Mann also addressed the media and shared insights into the conceptualization and direction of the project. He stated that the film will be shot at multiple locations, including Punjab and the United Kingdom, which will add a broader historical and cinematic dimension to the narrative.
Meanwhile, screenplay writer Beant Sandhu discussed the development of the story and dialogues. He explained that the film’s narrative is deeply connected to Punjab’s history, cultural identity, and the legacy linked to the Kohinoor diamond, presenting a powerful story rooted in heritage.
Other key members of the film’s team were also present at the poster launch ceremony, including artist Jatinder Singh Billa and production manager Rashpal Singh.
The makers expressed confidence that ‘Taj Punjab’ will highlight Punjab’s rich historical legacy while presenting an engaging cinematic experience for audiences.
