Annual Festival Begins at Jai Mata Kinnar Temple, Bapudham

From August 16 to 24, daily religious events and rituals mark the grand celebrations, with special participation of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Laxmi Narayan Tripathi

Chandigarh, August 21:
The annual festival at Jai Mata Kinnar Temple, Bapudham, Sector 26 began on August 16 and will continue till August 24, 2025, featuring a series of daily religious ceremonies and devotional gatherings. The celebrations are being organized by the Jai Mata Temple Kinnar Educational and Charitable Trust.

Announcing the schedule, Maa Kamlinand Giri, head priestess of Kinnar Dera Bapudham, said the festival commenced with Janmashtami Puja on the opening day. Subsequent rituals have included Nagar Kheda Shringar and Puja (Aug 17), Gugga Navami prayers (Aug 17 evening), Shiv Rudrabhishek (Aug 18), Mata’s Chowki and Sundarkand Path (Aug 19), and Akhanda Jyot, Ganesh Puja, and Neja rituals (Aug 20).

The festivities continue with Dhuna Puja, Peer ki Chadar Niyaz, and Kanya Puja on August 21. On August 22, a grand series of processions will take place, including the Shakti Kalash, Jal Kalash, and Doodh Kalash Yatra at 9:30 AM, followed by the Trishul Yatra and Agni Kalash Yatra at 5:30 PM. The evening will feature the Mata ka Jhoola Utsav at 8:30 PM.

On August 23, devotees will witness the Guga Jaharveer Abhishek, and the festival will conclude on August 24 with a Rath Yatra at 3:00 PM and Hariyali Puja at 9:00 PM.

A highlight of the celebrations is the participation of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Laxmi Narayan Tripathi of Shri Shri Kinnar Akhada, who will grace the festival with her presence.

To serve the devotees, arrangements for Langar (community meal) twice daily have been made throughout the 11-day festival, ensuring both spiritual and communal harmony.

The event is expected to draw large gatherings of devotees, making it one of the most vibrant religious celebrations in Chandigarh.
