CHANDIGARH — The BJP Sports Cell Chandigarh officially launched an exciting Under-19 Touch Rugby Tournament on Wednesday. BJP Chandigarh State President Jatinder Pal Malhotra inaugurated the tournament as the Chief Guest, while Hari Om Verma from the Rotary Club Chandigarh attended as the Guest of Honour. To support the athletes, organizers distributed event T-shirts and provided healthy refreshments after the matches. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sports have received unprecedented encouragement in India,” Malhotra stated during his opening address. Furthermore, he emphasized that the BJP remains deeply committed to creating sports opportunities for rural youth. In the boys’ division, All About Rugby Club-A narrowly defeated K.F.C. Club with a score of 10–5. According to tournament organizers, the matches will continue until June 19. BJP Chandigarh State President Jatinder Pal Malhotra addressed a high-profile press conference at the state office, “Kamalam,” in Sector-33. Prominent leaders attended the event, including State Vice Presidents Indira Singh and Naresh Panchal, alongside State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti. During his address, Malhotra asserted that the 12 years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi represent a golden chapter of public service. He emphasized that the administration successfully lifted nearly 25 crore people out of poverty.
