Event blends patriotism and environmental awareness, inspiring youth to pledge tree plantation in every home.

Chandigarh: Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector-11, Chandigarh, today witnessed a unique blend of patriotism and environmental responsibility with the launch of the “Har Ghar Tiranga – Har Ghar Paudha” campaign. The initiative was organised by Jai Madhusudan Jai Shri Krishna Foundation under the guidance of the college Principal, Professor Dr. Rama Arora, and with the special cooperation of Dr. Salil Sharma.
Environmental activist and former Flight Engineer (Indian Air Force), Prabhu Nath Shahi, founder of the Foundation, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Over 150 girl students participated enthusiastically, pledging to support environmental conservation under the Foundation’s Bharat Abhiyan program.
The event commenced with the symbolic presentation of a sandalwood sapling and the national tricolour by Mr. Shahi to Dr. Sharma. In his address, Mr. Shahi emphasised that environmental protection is not solely the government’s duty but a shared responsibility of every citizen.

“When we plant a tree, we not only create greenery but also secure the future,” he remarked, urging youth to embrace slogans such as “Our Environment, Our God” and “Our Work, in the Name of Mother Earth.”

Speakers highlighted the urgent need for tree plantation, public awareness, and citizen participation in safeguarding both the environment and the nation. The event concluded with all attendees taking a pledge to plant at least one tree in their homes.
Students Nishtha and Sandipana played a notable role in ensuring the program’s success, leaving a strong message of unity between patriotism and environmental care.
